Dark Brown Swedish Leather Armchair, 1970s
Attributed to the Swedish designer Arne Norell, this is a very handsome 70s armchair. The chocolate brown leather is embellished with the Thong Hem detail, which makes all the difference to the style. The legs are placed centrally and splayed out, and the back curves round at the sides. It is a solid, heavy chair made with quality in mind. The leather has seen some life with a few ridges and cracks. There are also a few marks on the side of the seat cushion from pet claws. The leather has been cleaned, and conditioned and it still has a lot of life and charm left.
